Following its successful run at the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival, Multwoh (Patay na Patay Sa’yo) is now showing in cinemas nationwide after drawing strong audience support.
Stars Sassa Gurl and Joao Constancia celebrated the film’s theatrical release during an exclusive screening at TriNoma Cinema 6 on October 20. The film is now showing in 13 Ayala Malls cinemas, giving more moviegoers a chance to catch the audience favorite on the big screen.
Multwoh was named the audience choice among the seven full-length films featured at this year’s Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival. Its festival run drew strong crowds, with sold-out screenings reported across Metro Manila.

Coming off one of the most successful Puregold CinePanalo runs to date, “Multwoh” was not only a hit with audiences but among critics as well. The film reaped four awards during the festival’s annual awards night: Always Panalo award, Panalo sa mga Manonood, Panalo sa Production Design, and Panalo sa Brand Intrusion.
With accolades and rabid audiences behind it, “Multwoh” is now coming to theaters nationwide, including cinemas in Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and more.
What made “Multwoh” such a monster hit?
For one, the film was driven by the star power of its viral lead Sassa Gurl, as well as the crew’s sensational promotional maneuvers. On top of various press interviews and online appearances, Sassa Gurl gamely slid into a coffin in a public display that was meant to sow intrigue among cinema fans about the film’s premise.
While receiving the audience choice award at the Puregold CinePanalo Awards Night, Rodina Singh spoke on the importance of viewers choosing queer stories.
“To me as a filmmaker, this [Panalo sa Manonood award] feels the most validating among all the awards for tonight,” said Singh. “Sumali po ako sa pagpepelikula na ang tanong sa samin, ‘may manonood ba ng kwentong gusto niyong ikwento?’
Sa pangatalong pagkakatoon, sasabihin ko po na ang ‘Multwoh’ ay nahigitan na ang lahat ng screenings ng una ko pang pelikula at pangalawa.”

The film’s success speaks to the hunger that Pinoy audiences have for diverse stories. Far from alienating audiences with its queer characters and unabashedly proud tone, “Multwoh” has been a commercial dynamo attracting viewers of all ages and backgrounds.
“Multwoh (Patay na Patay Sa’yo)” returns to the big screen starting October 21 at Glorietta, Trinoma, Market! Market!, Fairview Terraces, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, Ayala Malls Circuit, Ayala Malls Feliz, Ayala Malls Cloverleaf, Ayala Malls Marquee, Ayala Malls Harbor Point, Ayala Malls Center Cebu, Ayala Malls Centrio, and Ayala Malls Capitol Central.
