Love can be complicated, and some relationships come with unexpected consequences. VMX explores the messy side of lust and betrayal in Dutdot and Sukdulan this October.
For many girls, there’s much ado about turning 18, and understandably so. It’s an age associated to newfound freedom and exciting discoveries. But the excitement can turn into heartache and even lead to an irreparable mistake if one isn’t careful. Such is the story of Mira in the VMX movie Dutdot, starring Aliya Raymundo.
Mira decides to get a tattoo to mark her 18th birthday. As the only child of a single mother, she’s been sheltered all her life, and now she feels like she can finally do what she wants without asking permission from her mom Mercy (Krista Miller).
Her godfather, Ninong Rodel (Chester Grecia), happens to be a professional tattoo artist, and he’s happy to do her first tattoo as a birthday present. But while he’s working on her thigh, one thing leads to another and Mira has her sexual awakening.
Rodel is known to have sexual affairs with his clients, but Mira believes that what they have is something real, so she keeps coming back to him. As it turns out, Rodel has feelings for Mercy, who is also not immune to his charm and welcomes his advances.
Meanwhile, Mira’s childhood friend, Jericho (Nico Valdez), is just by her side waiting to be noticed.
Find out how Mira will cope with heartbreak and betrayal when she discovers her mother’s relationship with Rodel. Can she trust her heart with Jericho when he reveals his feelings for her? And should she?
Directed by Christopher Novabos, who received an Honorable Mention and Jury Prize award at the 2024 Wallachia International Film Festival for the movie Langitngit (Creak), Dutdot is now streaming on VMX.

Sukdulan follows a woman caught between a relationship that has lost its spark and a new connection that awakens something she has long been missing.
Elaine (de Vera), a maintenance staff in a condominium, and Orly (Sangalang), a TNVS driver, share a home and the responsibility of caring for Orly’s blind mother. But with their different work schedules and mounting exhaustion, their relationship has fallen into a routine that leaves Elaine feeling unfulfilled sexually.
That longing leads Elaine to Miguel (Solano), a charming photographer she first gets to know online before unexpectedly meeting him in person at the condo building where she works. Although Miguel is a playboy who sleeps around with different women, his attention offers the excitement Elaine has been craving for. As their attraction grows, Elaine finds herself drifting further away from Orly.
Sensing the growing emotional distance between them, Orly attempts to win Elaine back and become the partner she has always wanted. But just as their relationship begins to take a different turn, secrets threaten to unravel everything.
