The journey begins on June 1, 2026, as Manila Mayor Isko Moreno hosts the grand kickoff screening of Home Along Da Riles: Da Reunion at the historic Metropolitan Theater. This special event serves as both a homecoming for the film and a tribute to the legendary King of Comedy, Dolphy. As a proud son of Tondo, Manila, Dolphy grew up and honed his comedic genius on the city’s streets. Hosting the kickoff in Manila creates a full-circle moment that honors his humble roots, the very place where he rose to become the soul of Filipino comedy.
To capture the spirit of the Bodabil (vaudeville) era that shaped Dolphy’s early career, the acclaimed contemporary group Acapellago will set the stage with a nostalgic live performance to open the night. Moreover, in a grand show of support for Filipino cinema and “The Nation’s Family,” employees of the Manila City Government will also be in attendance for this special screening.
This grand celebration is a fitting tribute, as Home Along Da Riles wasn’t just a sitcom, it was a weekly family habit. It introduced us to the Comes, a chaotic, deeply loving family that truly represents the heart of every Filipino home. This June 17, Home Along Da Riles: Da Reunion officially makes its historic return to cinemas nationwide, bringing that timeless comedy/drama back to Filipino hearts.
Directed by Boy 2 Quizon, who also reprises his role as Estong Cosme, the film promises to stay true to the core of the original story. Adding to the chaos of this movie comeback, the old neighborhood is in excitement over the upcoming “Wedding of the Year.” Bing, played by Claudine Bairetto, is engaged to a mysterious man played by Pepe Herrera. True to the classic Cosme brand of comedy, introducing a new face into their tight-knit dynamic triggers a domino effect of hilarious family clashes, sibling riots, and pure comedy gold.
Actor-director Quizon shared that bringing the original cast back together was a big puzzle that took two years to complete.
