Joseph Marco and Rhen Escaño are stealing hearts (and ratings) as they portray Zeke Roswell and Aemie Romero in My Husband is a Mafia Boss,currently the #1 series on Viva One.
Directed by Fifth Solomon (Lasting Moments, My Sassy Girl), this adaptation of the Wattpad sensation, by the late Diana Marie Maranan (a.k.a. Yanalovesyouu), premiered on April 11.
In the past weeks, viewers have followed the unexpected romance between multi-billionaire CEO/engineer Zeke and the charmingly clumsy college student Aemie.
When Aemie first met Zeke, she thought he had the face of an angel, but it didn’t take long for her to experience his harsh personality. Known for being impatient, strict, and even ruthless, Zeke had nothing but power and wealth. To ensure he wouldn’t lose his late father’s inheritance, he had to marry quickly. And so, Zeke tricked Aemie into marrying him.
True to her naive and childish nature, Aemie simply accepted her fate as Mrs. Roswell. Her mother, Alyana (veteran actress Ara Mina), didn’t object either. In fact, she even advised Aemie to be a good wife. The only one who thought Aemie had made a huge mistake was her best friend Nico aka Moo (next gen showbiz young actor Jaime Yllana), who secretly harbored feelings for her.
The first six episodes delighted fans with Marco and Escaño’s undeniable chemistry, surprise kilig moments, and laughs—especially thanks to Escaño’s effortless comedic timing. The teaser for episode 7 shows Aemie hilariously taking on the mantle as Roswell Corporation’s acting CEO, and many new charcaters being introduced.
And the excitement is far from over! My Husband is a Mafia Boss is nearing mid-season–which means more twists are on the way! First up: the series is getting two additional episodes. Now, not just 18, but 20 episodes to enjoy more of Zeke and Aemie’s love story.
Mid-season, Zeke’s mafia world takes a bigger role in the story as the rival Yaji Mafia group closes in on Aemie. How will she react when she discovers that her husband is a mafia boss and her life is on the line?
