Wattpad story ‘Ang Mutya ng Section E’ coming to VIVA One as series

The beloved Wattpad story “Ang Mutya ng Section E”, written by Lara Flores aka Eatmore2behappy, is getting its much deserved adaptation soon on Viva One! Composed of three books, the first book of this bestselling Wattpad series with over 143 million reads, will be equivalent to 16 episodes.

Be prepared to meet the 16 rowdy guys and one fierce young lady of Section E! They’re an ensemble of the freshest and most promising young Viva artists, led by Andres Muhlach, Ashtine Olviga, and Rabin Angeles.

The innate “Muhlach charm” has been working well for Andres since he began his first acting gig in “Da Pers Family”, a sitcom which also stars his parents, Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzales, and twin sister Atasha. As fans see more of him, the more they get excited about what he has to offer.

Now, taking on the role of Keifer in “Ang Mutya ng Section E”, this charmer is out to prove that he can make his viewers feel various emotions – from gigil (annoyance) to kilig (exhilaration) and everything in between.

Mark Keifer Watson is the class president of Section E. Though he is brainy, this is overshadowed by the fact that he can be quite a bully. Unfortunately, a girl named Jay-Jay is going to be at the receiving end of his unfriendly acts.

Jay-Jay Mariano (short for Jasper Jean) is played by Ashtine Olviga, a talented singer who started out as part of the supergroup PPop Generation. She has released a digital single entitled “Sabihin Mo Na”.

Playing the “mutya” of Section E, the lowest and most chaotic section in Higher Value International School, Ashtine gets her biggest break in showbiz. It will be fun to witness how her character, who promised her aunt to be on her best behavior, will deal with Keifer and the rest of the boys.

Aside from the conflict between Keifer and Jay-Jay, a third party by the name of Yuri will add tension to the story. Rabin Angeles, the K-pop-idol-looking guy from Angeles City, is determined to give justice to his character. Just like Andres and Ashtine, he takes their workshops seriously and doesn’t want to waste any opportunity.

The rest of Section E are: Charles Law as Ci-N, Frost Sandoval as David, Keagan De Jesus as Felix, Ethan David as Felix, Kurt Delos Reyes as Eman, Martin Venegas as Denzel, Nic Galvez as Kit, Daniel Ong as Mayo, AJ Ferrer as Rory, Sam Shoaf as Edrix, Michael Keith as Eren, Kyosu Guinto as Josh, Yanyan De Jesus as Drew, and Derick Ong as Blaster.

Also part of the cast are Viva’s promising young stars Andre Muhlach and Heart Ryan, with veteran actors Yayo Aguila, Katya Santos, Nanette Inventor, and Lander Vera Perez.

Exclusively showing on Viva One, the production team is working closely with author Lara Flores and Wattpad WEBTOON Studios to ensure that the essence of the series is fully captured. This is just the first of many upcoming collaborations between Viva and Wattpad WEBTOON Studios.
