Explore rare treasures and timeless stories at Minted MNL Summer Show

This March 14 and 15, 2026, collectors and enthusiasts will gather at The Westin Manila for the Minted MNL Summer Show, a unique event where history, artistry, and collecting converge. From rare coins and revolutionary documents to century-old photographs and colonial-era jewelry, the show offers a chance to explore treasures that tell the story of the Philippines across centuries.

International Auction of Rare Pieces

At the heart of the event is the International Auction of Rare Pieces, featuring 15 meticulously curated lots that span the 18th century to modern commemoratives. Highlights include:

Lot 1: 19th-Century José Rizal Photograph

An original photograph of Jose Rizal, depicting him in his European overcoat. This rare print survived both wartime losses and natural deterioration, offering collectors a tangible link to the Ilustrado era.

Lot 2: Malolos Republic Jewelry Suite

Shirt studs, coat buttons, cufflinks, and a pendant reflecting the artistry and pride of the First Philippine Republic. This set embodies a pivotal moment in Filipino independence and cultural identity.

Lot 3: Emilio Aguinaldo-Signed Certificate (1899)

A presidential document issued days before the fall of Tarlac, personally signed by Emilio Aguinaldo. A rare artifact of the final days of the Malolos Republic’s conventional government.

Lot 4: Señorita Tambourine Necklace (18K Gold)

A gold miniature tambourine inspired by Spanish-period Filipino festivities. This finely crafted piece celebrates the rhythm, grace, and cultural traditions of the colonial era.

Lot 5: 1868 1 Peso Isabel II (Manila Mint, MS62)

One of the last gold coins issued under Queen Isabel II. Scarce and historically significant, this coin reflects the Philippines’ connection to the Spanish imperial economy.

Lot 6: 1868/58 4 Peso Isabel II (Manila Mint, MS64)

A larger denomination of the Manila-minted gold coins, prized for its rarity and preserved detail.

Lot 7: 1882 4 Peso Gold (Alfonso XII, MS63)

This coin captures Manila’s role in Spanish colonial trade and governance, representing authority, prosperity, and global commerce in the 19th century.

Lot 8: 1975 ₱5000 Gold Coin – Blue Edition (Ferdinand & Imelda Marcos)

Struck in proof finish by The Franklin Mint, with a limited mintage of 2,832 pieces. Its rarity and historical context make it a cornerstone of modern Philippine numismatics.

Lot 9: ₱1,500 Gold Coin (New Mint Facilities, MS69)

Top Pop certified by NGC, this coin celebrates the Philippines’ modern minting capabilities and features the national flower, the Sampaguita, in gold relief.

Lot 10: 1999 ₱5,000 Gold – Central Bank 50th Anniversary (PF69 Ultra Cameo)

Commemorating the half-century milestone of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, this limited modern issue combines elegance and historical significance.

Lot 11: 2025-W $100 American Liberty High Relief (PF70 Ultra Cameo)

A modern masterpiece, struck in one ounce of .9999 fine gold, with flawless PF70 Ultra Cameo grading. It embodies the ideals of liberty, artistry, and national pride.

Lot 12: 1906-S 1 Peso (AU Detail, Rim Damage)

A U.S.-Philippine era silver peso with extreme rarity due to historical melting and low survival rates. A coveted coin for collectors of colonial and American-era Philippine currency.

Lot 13: 1782 Gilt “Industry” Medal (Carolus III)

Struck to commemorate early economic modernization efforts in the Philippines, this gilt medal celebrates labor, trade, and productivity in the 18th century.

Lot 14: 1918 Rizal Day “Vencedor” Medal

Produced by the legendary engraver Crispulo Zamora, this medal honors Filipino athletic achievement during the early American colonial period and features neoclassical artistry.

Lot 15: 1920 Rizal Day “Tribuna” Medal

A companion piece to Lot 14, highlighting ceremonial prestige and social recognition in early 20th-century Manila. Both medals retain original patina, representing a rare survival of historical craftsmanship.

While the auction is the centerpiece, Minted MNL’s Summer Show also offers:

1. Bourse Tables at the Heart of the Event

At the center of the show is a table bourse floor, where collectors buy, sell, and exchange rare coins, banknotes, medals, and other collectible pieces. Participants include a mix of local and international dealers and collectors, creating a dynamic space for cross-border trading and collaboration. The bourse serves not only as a marketplace but also as a meeting ground where knowledge, expertise, and stories are shared among participants.

2. Exclusive Collectors’ Corner Exhibits

The event will feature exclusive Collectors’ Corner exhibits, showcasing select pieces from elite private collections. These curated displays offer guests the opportunity to view historically significant and rarely exhibited items up close.
