Puregold CinePanalo grants ₱5 million each to 7 feature films for 2026 edition

For its upcoming 3rd year, Puregold CinePanalo continues to champion Filipino filmmakers by helping them bring their dream projects to life. The festival is raising the bar once again, awarding a ₱5 million production grant to each of the seven official feature-length entries of its 2026 edition—its largest grant to date.

The selected projects include:

  • Joseph Abello’s Wantawsan
  • BC Amparado’s Mono No Aware
  • Thop Nazareno’s Apol of my Ai
  • Carl Joseph Papa and Ian Pangilinan’s Patay Gutom (Dead Hungry)
  • Lawrence Fajardo’s Beast
  • Mikko Baldoza’s Stuck on You
  • Rodina Singh’s Multwoh (Patay na Patay Sa’yo)

The reveal of the Top 7 was held on October 25 in Quezon City through a cinematic video presentation. Each of the seven official entries was awarded a giant stylized grocery receipt signifying their record-breaking ₱5 million production grant, handed over by festival director Chris Cahilig and Jim Baltazar of CMB Film Services.

Aside from the grant, the select feature films will also compete for the festival’s awards and will be screened alongside 20 short films by student filmmakers.

The Puregold CinePanalo 2026 Film Festival will be held next year at Gateway Cineplex 18 and Ayala Malls Cinemas, with support from Canon Marketing Philippines, CMB Film Services, Terminal Six Post, IM Rentals, Asia Pacific Film Institute, Stage Post Audio and Music Productions Inc., the Film Development Council of the Philippines, and the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
