‘Dreamboi’ tops first CineSilip Film Festival

The first CineSilip Film Festival announced its winners, with Dreamboi leading the awards night. The festival runs until October 28 in select theaters.

Dreamboi‘, directed by Rodina Singh, won Best Film and several other major awards, including Best Director, Best Supporting Actor (Migs Almendras), Best Cinematography (Malay Javier), Best Editing (Arnex Nicolas), Best Production Design (Chippie Day Abando), Best Sound (Immanuel Verona and John Buquid), and the Audience Prize Award.

‘Pagdaong’ won Second Best Film, while ‘Haplos sa Hangin’ took Third Best Film. Angela Morena was named Best Actress for Pagdaong, and Martin Del Rosario won Best Actor for Haplos sa Hangin.

Sonny Calvento and Mikko Baldoza received Best Screenplay for Haplos sa Hangin, while Paulo Almaden won Best Musical Score for the same film. Chloe Jenna was awarded Best Supporting Actress for Maria Azama: Best Prn Star.

With its strong lineup and bold storytelling, the first CineSilip Film Festival marks a promising beginning for a new era of independent and provocative Filipino cinema — one that dares to push creative boundaries while celebrating artistry and authenticity.
