In the world of romantic films and TV shows, love scenes often play a key role in showing how characters fall in love and connect emotionally. But for Kapuso actress Rhian Ramos, those seemingly effortless moments on screen take much more than just good acting—they require vulnerability and trust, which aren’t always easy.

At the July 9 press conference for her new film Meg & Ryan held in Quezon City, Rhian was asked whether it felt awkward to shoot romantic scenes with co-star JC Santos. She said portraying the love between their characters was essential to the story.
“It’s a love story so talagang dapat nating ipakita kung paano talaga nagka-in love-an sina Mega and Ryan,” she said.
She also pointed out that love scenes are, by nature, among the most uncomfortable parts of acting.
“Love scenes are some of the most awkward scenes that you can possibly do. I get asked a lot kung nagselos ba si ganito o yung parang gano’n. But sa totoo lang, ang hirap din talaga na tanggalin sa isip mo na napakaraming taong nanonood,” she shared.
What helps, Rhian shared, is building trust with your scene partner.
“It’s really up to the two of you to trust each other, and try your best to make each other feel comfortable kasi nga there’s so many factors why you should be uncomfortable. Conscious ka sa katawan mo, conscious ka kasi katabing-katabi lang ng face mo yung cameraman. ‘Di ba? So, may mga gano’n.” she said.
She then praised JC Santos for being respectful and supportive throughout filming.
“If ever may iláng factor naman, it’s not because of JC. He definitely was a gentleman the whole time, making me feel as comfortable as possible. But sa totoo lang, you can’t be fully comfortable in a love scene.”

Meg and Ryan is directed by Catherine O. Camarillo, DGPI, and written by Gina Marissa Tagasa. It stars Rhian Ramos and JC Santos, with Cedrick Juan, Ces Quesada, Cris Villanueva, and Jef Gaitan. The film also introduces J-mee Katanyag, Steven Bansil, Poca Osinaga, and Alison Black. From PM PRODUCTIONS Inc.
The story follows Meg Zamonte and Ryan Cañete—two strangers who meet at an unexpected time. She loves taking dares. He’s careful with his heart. One playful bet brings them together in a night of chance, connection, and maybe… love.
Meg & Ryan opens in cinemas nationwide on August 6, 2025.
