Sabon Express launches PH’s first self-service soap & detergent refill station

In line with the 24th anniversary of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Mutual Benefit Association, Incorporated (BJMPMBAI), Sabon Express The Refill Authority officially launched the first fully automated, web-based soap and detergent vendo machine in the Philippines.

The innovation, called the Blue Box, is a self-service refill station that offers a more affordable and eco-friendly way to access everyday household essentials.

“Pinagmamalaki po namin that this is the first fully automated portal and web-based soap and detergent vendo machine in the Philippines,” said Sabon Express founder Mellany Zambrano during the grand debut on July 5 in Quezon City.

According to Zambrano, Blue Box was designed with sustainability in mind.

“Blue Box is a self-service refill station na de-ne-sign po namin para sa mga household daily essentials… Gusto po namin na maging available ang mga produkto na ito in small affordable amounts. Kasi ang nilalabanan po ng Sabon Express ay plastic. So, ang gusto po naming ma-eradicate or ma-minimize at least ay yung use ng sachets ng ating mga kababayan.”

The refill stations aim to provide a smarter, greener alternative to single-use plastics by allowing customers to bring their own bottles and pay only for the amount they need.

“So it’s actually a smarter alternative to buying sachets or bottles every time kasi yung mga costumer po ay pipila lang po sa machine para makapag-refill, makapag-save. Pipila lang po sila at magdadala ng sariling bote.”

How to Use the Blue Box Refill Station

1. Bring Your Own Bottle
Use a clean, dry, reusable container—any size will do.

2. Select a Product
Choose from the following options:

• Deesh Kalamansi
• Deesh Lemon
• Switch Liquid Detergent
• Lanz 3X Fabric Conditioner

3. Choose Your Amount
Refill based on your budget, starting at just ₱5 for 50ml.
You only pay for what you need—no excess, no waste.

4. Insert Payment
The machine accepts ₱5, ₱10, and ₱20 coins.
QR code payment is also available, depending on the unit.

5. Refill and Go
Place your bottle, press the button, seal your container, and you’re done!

With affordability, accessibility, and sustainability at its core, Sabon Express hopes to roll out more Blue Box stations in communities across the country—bringing convenience and environmental responsibility together, one refill at a time.
