Blvck Entertainment, led by power duo Engineers Louie and Grace Cristobal, proudly introduces its newest artist, Chryzquin Yu—a fresh and promising talent ready to share her heart and versatility through music. As she gears up for her debut album, Chryzquin opens up about her inspirations, artistic direction, and deep gratitude for the team guiding her journey.
“Since I’m a newly launched music artist, in this album that were gonna release… more on different styles,” Chryzquin shared during a press conference on April 12 in Quezon City. “For this, per song po it’s more on pop, country, with a little bit of hiphop because it’s a collaboration with Jake Piedad of SV Squad. So, as an artist po, I want to try different genres muna. And then from there po, kung saan ako mas mamahalin ng tao and kung saan po ako magiging mas magugustuhan, that’s where I’ll take the path po.”
Chryzquin is not only eager to explore various genres but also dreams of collaborating with some of her musical idols, both local and international.
“For local po, I want to collab with hopefully with Sarah Geronimo, Maja Salvador, with our P-pop sensation BINI. And for international po, I hope I make it global. I want to collaborate with [BLACKPINK] Lisa.”
At the heart of Chryzquin’s journey is the support she receives from Blvck Entertainment, which she describes as her second home.
“…Black Entertainment, I’m very grateful for them kasi this became my second home. So, most of the time nandito na ako. Everyday… before no’ng launching talagang nando’n ako. Sila yung nag-aalaga sa akin. Sila yung nagwo-work talaga to make me the best artist that I could be. Sila yung nagbi-build sa akin to be a better person, [and] to improve my talent.”
She also emphasized the importance of trust and a family-like relationship between an artist and their management.
“So, it’s very important that you trust your management, you trust the process, and you have to treat them as your second parents talaga. Kasi like for example, our CEOs Ms. Grace Cristobal and Sir Louie Cristobal, they don’t just give me advice as an artist, they give me advice as a daughter also. Kung paano ako maging mabuting tao hindi lang sa ginagawa ko but at the same time, to the people around me. Because again, being an artist isn’t just maganda lang or performing lang, we always have to remember to keep our feet on the ground… Kaya it’s very important to trust our management and love them just like how we love our family.”
Before stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist, Chryzquin was already making a name for herself on television. She began at a young age with appearances in talent and dance reality shows such as TV5’s Talentadong Pinoy Kids, ABS-CBN’s Dance Kids, and later competed in Your Moment, Eat Bulaga Bida Next, World of Dance PH, and Girl on Fire on It’s Showtime. She was also part of the girl group Blvck Flowers, where she served as the lead rapper and main dancer. Although her official debut was postponed due to health concerns, Chryzquin used the time to recover, train, and return stronger than ever.
In addition to her performances, Chryzquin has been recognized in several K-pop fan events, winning the 2023 Best Rapper award at the KPOP Static KPOP Cover Artist Awards and earning the “Star of the Night” title at the PPOP Awards 2023. Beyond music, she is also a successful commercial model and a multi-awarded dancesport athlete. Her commitment extends to academics as well—Chryzquin currently balances her artistic career with her university studies at the University of Santo Tomas (UST).
Now stepping into her own spotlight, Chryzquin has officially launched her solo music career with the release of her debut single, “’Di Na” featuring Jake Piedad of SV Squad, now streaming on major platforms. The music video, directed by Louie Ong, is also available on YouTube.
With her passion, humility, and drive, Chryzquin Yu is an artist to watch—an emerging force in the music scene, determined to find her voice and make her mark, with Blvck Entertainment behind her every step of the way.
