Award-winning ‘SubText’ returns as musical—extended through March

After a triumphant three-show run and a sold-out performance on Saturday, February 15, SubText: The Musical is extending its run for the entire month of March! Many may not know that internationally acclaimed director-writer-producer Nijel de Mesa first made his mark in theater. His celebrated play SubText won 1st Prize at the prestigious Don Carlos Palanca Awards for Literature before being adapted into a full-length film. Over the years, it has been brought to life by an impressive roster of actors, including Victor Neri, Soliman Cruz, Lou Veloso, Harlene Bautista, Paolo Contis, Ciara Sotto, Boboy Garovillo, and Nova Villa.

Now, this powerful story takes on new life as a musical, offering an intimate yet emotionally charged exploration of love, relationships, and communication. Featuring brand-new original songs by Direk Nijel de Mesa, with musical arrangements by Jopper Ril, this reimagined production is set to captivate audiences beyond the stage, with plans for a global tour.

The premiere cast of the musical version includes Shane Santos, Cherry Morena, Ced Recalde, Karl Tiuseco, Gaye Angeles, and Jiro Custodio from NET25’s Star Kada.
