Singer and theater actor Gerald Santos is ready to take the stage for his upcoming concert, ‘Gerald Santos: Courage’, on January 24 at the SM North EDSA Skydome.
During a press conference for the concert, Gerald Santos shared the meaning behind the title Courage, which resonates deeply with his recent experiences. It was last year that Gerald bravely shared his experience of being a victim of sexual abuse. He also spoke about how the words “courage” and “hubad” perfectly define him now.
He shared, “Because of what I went through last year … maraming nagsasabi that was courageous, and at the same time parang kumabaga I was naked in public. Dahil when I told about what happened to me, I really felt na hubad ako sa publiko. Kaya talagang yung dalawang words na yan – ‘courage’ and ‘hubad’ – perfectly define me right now.”
Gerald has also released his latest single, “Hubad,” which has a sexier sound compared to his past songs. This new style reflects his desire to try something fresh and exciting for his fans.
He shared, “I want to offer something new. I want to offer a new sound. So ito yung new sound na maririnig nila kay Gerald. And may iba pa akong song na ni-record at ire-record na nasa ganito ring tema kaya abangan nila yan. Una pa lang ‘to.”
Gerald Santos expressed his intention to take bold steps with the song choices he would perform in his upcoming concert. The upcoming concert also marks the launch of the Courage Movement to support survivors of sexual abuse.
He said, “I’ll be courageous with the song choices that I’ll be singing. Kung itong ‘Hubad‘ unorthodox, kumbaga marami rin akong unorthodox na mga songs na kakantahin sa concert na hindi nila typically naririnig sa akin… And then the launch of “Courage” Movement as well.”
Gerald Santos promises more music like “Hubad” in 2025, sharing, “More music like ‘Hubad’—this is my new sound. They’ll be hearing more songs like this from me: bolder, braver, and more courageous Gerald Santos.”
Adding to the excitement, the concert will feature several special guests, including Sheryn Regis, Erik Santos, new artist Elish, and rising P-POP group ASTER, along with other surprise performers.
