‘Ex Ex Lovers’: Gift for fans of Marvin Agustin, Jolina Magdangal

The iconic ’90s love team of Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal, known as “MarJo,” is set to rekindle their magic on the big screen with their highly anticipated movie, ‘Ex Ex Lovers.‘

As one of the most beloved tandems of the 1990s, Marvin and Jolina captivated audiences with their undeniable chemistry. They starred in numerous TV shows and films, earning a special place in Filipino pop culture history. Decades later, their return has sparked excitement among their loyal fans.

During the film’s project launch in December, Marvin and Jolina expressed their deep gratitude to those who have supported them over the years. The duo revealed that the film is their way of giving back to the fans who have continued to love and root for them.

Jolina shared, “Thankful kami. Minsan hindi na nga sapat yung thank you lang e, ‘di ba? ‘Thank you [at] I love you’, hindi na siya sapat sa sobra sobra pang nararamdaman naming pagiging grateful sa – yung talagang… wala nang edad edad… wala nang esta-estado… sinong nakatuluyan ng sino. …Wala silang gano’n. Basta mahal nila kami as MarJo, period. Ipaglalaban nila kami as MarJo, period.”

“Gift din namin ito sa pagmamahal nila [MarJo fans] sa amin. Kaya dream din namin ni Marvin itong movie kasi gusto talaga naming ibalik yung pasasalamat namin sa mga nagmahal sa amin mula noon hanggang ngayon and forever,” she added.

Marvin Agustin expressed his deep appreciation for their fans. He said their love and support inspired every part of the movie.

Marvin said, “I think yung sinasabing ‘Action speaks louder than words’, para masabi namin sa inyong thankful and grateful kami sa inyo, kayo ang dahilan kung bakit ginawa namin itong pelikulang ‘to. At kayo ang iniisip namin habang ginagawa namin ‘tong pelikula.

“Kasi parang yung bawat eksena, matutuwa ba kayo sa ginagawa namin? Mapapasaya ba namin kayo? Tapos pag may mga touching moments, mata-touch at maiiyak kaya sila sa ginagawa natin? So, kayo yung full na iniisip namin habang ginagawa namin ‘tong pelikula,” he continued.

‘Ex Ex Lovers’ also stars Juan Karlos and Loisa Andalio, and direction of JP Habac. Produced by Project 8 Projects in collaboration with Cornerstone Entertainment, the film is set to premiere in 2025.
