Jerome Lisay, a dedicated advocate for mechanical engineers and the president of the Pambansang Samahan ng Inhenyero Mikanikal (PSIM) Manila Chapter, has not only made significant contributions to the engineering field but has also ventured into the world of filmmaking. He has recently put up JPHLix Films & Entertainment Ltd. Co.
With a passion that began in video editing and short films, Lisay has seamlessly blended his leadership in engineering with a growing career in film production.
“I started with a little bit of passion for filming and video editing,” Lisay shared. His journey took a professional turn when he produced his first full-length film, Balinsasayaw, under Vivamax. Inspired by the success of this venture, he produced another movie, Pasahero, starring Bea Binene, Louise Delos Reyes, and directed by Roman Perez, Jr. The film was featured in SM Cinemas’ Sine Sindak: Ang Ika-5 Yugto.
“Yung Pasahero nagustuhan ko naman siya, and luckily, nakasama siya sa Sine Sindak kaya talagang madaming nanood,” he explained. Beyond its entertainment value, Lisay highlighted that the movie carried a moral story, showcasing his commitment to creating meaningful content. While he acknowledges the slow return on investment in filmmaking, his optimism remains strong: “Definitely, masusundan ito…kumita din naman kaya masusundan at masusundan.”
A Leader in Engineering Advocacy
Lisay’s passion for creativity parallels his dedication to empowering the mechanical engineering community. As president of PSIM Manila, he plays a crucial role in fostering the career growth and professional development of engineers. Since its establishment in 2018, PSIM has experienced remarkable growth, now boasting over 21,000 active members worldwide.
“This organization will help you, your career, [and] your professional growth. Your knowledge will become wider. Your network will become broader,” Lisay said, describing the organization’s mission.
PSIM is a non-profit dedicated to enriching its members’ careers by offering opportunities for networking, skill-building, and collaboration.

Expanding Horizons: Local and International Reach
Initially focused on local initiatives, PSIM has rapidly expanded its scope to international collaborations. Through partnerships like the Global Future Summit – Silkroad 4.0, the organization connects its members with global leaders across industries.
“The purpose of this event, this ‘Silkroad 4.0,’ is to gather all international leaders in the professional and business industries. It aims to foster growth not only locally but internationally,” Lisay explained. Such initiatives exemplify PSIM’s dedication to creating a platform where Filipino engineers can excel globally.
The Manila Chapter alone boasts 900 registered members, while its reach spans across Metro Manila, various regions of the Philippines, and international chapters in countries like the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore.
The Annual General Membership Meeting
One of PSIM’s flagship events is its annual general membership meeting, a gathering that unites members and serves as an opportunity to elect officers for the coming year. Lisay emphasized the importance of this event, stating, “This is the only time that we gather the majority of our members.”
The meeting is not only about organizational matters but also about empowering engineers through exposure to leaders in both the engineering and business industries. Collaborations like Silkroad 4.0 further enrich the event by introducing members to global best practices and fostering partnerships.
Merging Passion with Purpose
Whether leading the engineering community through PSIM or producing thought-provoking films, Jerome Lisay exemplifies a visionary leader committed to making a difference. His dual pursuits reflect his belief in fostering growth, innovation, and meaningful connections across diverse fields.
