MMFF 2023’s Best Child Performer for GMA’s blockbuster hit ‘Firefly’, Euwenn Mikaell, takes center stage in his first lead rooe in a television series — the highly-anticipated GMA Afternoon Prime series ‘Forever Young’.
And that’s an apt title role to play.
During a press conference for the series, Euwenn was asked if it was easier for him to portray an adult role as a child. He candidly replied, “Hindi po. Ang daming deep words na hindi ko alam. …Deep Tagalog kasi e,” indicating the complexities of the Filipino language used in his character’s dialogue.
Despite this, Euwenn has found joy in the role, he said, “Madami akong kaibigan.”
Euwenn shares the screen with esteemed veteran actors, including Eula Valdez and Michael De Mesa, which he now consider as friends.
Eula expressed her excitement about working with him: “Tuwang-tuwa ako na makaeksena siya. Siyempre hindi maiiwasan, nando’n pa din yung pagkabata niya e. Makulit pa rin.”
Eula also praised Euwenn’s dedication, saying, “Alam niya yung ginagawa niya. Parang pinanganak siya para mag-artista…. May mga time na focused siya, may mga times din siyempre na naglalaro siya, yung gusto na niyang umuwi. Pero nakaka-deliver siya, yun ang nakakatuwa. Masarap siya katrabaho.”
In this series, Euwenn plays the character of Rambo Agapito, a 25-year-old man trapped in a 10-year-old body.
Due to his rare condition called panhypopituitarism, his growth hormone slows down while his childlike appearance remains.
Despite this unique challenge, Rambo strives to be a loving son and brother to his adoptive family while pursuing his dream of becoming a public servant.
However, politics may not be an easy journey for Rambo, especially when his personal life and family issues begin to interfere.
How can Rambo fulfill his goals when he is still young and tiny in the eyes of society?
Will he still pursue public service if it can put his loved ones in danger?
Joining Euwenn in the show are Alfred Vargas as Gregory Agapito, Nadine Samonte as Judy Ann Agapito, Rafael Rosell as Albert Vergara, James Blanco as Rigor Peralta, Lucho Ayala as Julio Geronimo, Althea Ablan as Raine Agapito, Abdul Raman as Joryl Vergara, Matt Lozano as Ompong Ignacio, Bryce Eusebio as Cliff Mercado, Princess Aliyah as Riley Agapito.
‘Forever Young’ is produced by the GMA Entertainment Group, headed by Senior Vice President Lilybeth G. Rasonable, Vice President for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy, Assistant Vice President for Drama Ali Nokom-Dedicatoria, Program Manager Arnel T. Nacario, and Executive Producer Mavic O. Tagbo.
