As a prominent Filipina actress, host, and social media personality, Alex Gonzaga has made a strong impact in both television and online platforms. Known for her humor and authenticity, she connects well with her audience through relatable content. Beyond her comedic side, she also has strong statement when it comes to important issues like body shaming, gender sensitivity, and the harmful effects of online bashing.
During her newest brand endorsement together with her parents, Alex Gonzaga shared her thoughts on how bashing can sometimes affect her.
She said, “Siguro may mga times na maaapektuhan ka. Pero kung malakas nga talaga yung core group mo—I have my parents. I have my sister. I have my husband. Pag binaba mo naman yung cellphone mo, hindi mo na naman ano yun e. So yun lang.
“Minsan, syempre, talagang minsan maaapektuhan ka. Pero at the end of the day kapagka meron kang supportive na family, may core group ka na – even my friends – na talagang solid, hindi ka naman masadong masi-sway,” she continued.

Alex Gonzaga shared a situation where she was the target of hurtful comments, specifically being called “baog” (infertile). While she clarified that she was not personally affected by the insult, she expressed that such remarks should come to an end.
“Hindi ako nasaktan, ha? Personally, hindi ako nasasaktan do’n. Pero parang tingin ko, kailangan mag-stop yon pag sinasabihan ka ng ‘baog’.
“Di ba sa gender nagiging… very sensitive na tayo ngayon. Even sa body shaming. Pero bakit sa babae, pag walang anak, parang very loosely ginagamit yung ‘nalaglag’, ‘baog’, di ba? Parang dapat we really have to be sensitive about it.
“Kasi ako, kaya ko. Pwede naman kasi! Okay naman yung ano ng doctor ko. Pero what if may mga tao na very sensitive talaga sa kanila yung gano’ng issue?
“…Dapat we have to be careful na gamitin yung mga words na yon very loosely sa mga kababaihan kasi maraming inner struggles ang babae. Hindi lang for me,” she added.

The actress further disclosed that she had taken legal action against a certian individual for such comments, stressing that her intention was not personal retaliation but rather to raise awareness about the misuse of harmful language.
“So… meron tayong nademanda diyan. Ngayon… maglalabas na siya ng kaniyang statement,” she said, adding that the apology from the basher was being refined. “It’s because gusto ko talaga gawin is, hindi ‘to para sa akin na nasaktan ako. Pinapaayos lang naming yung apology niya. But it’s because gusto kong maging concious na tayo. Para… maging lesson lang na hindi po dapat ginagamit yung salitang ‘baog’ [at] ‘nalaglag’. Tapos ang reason lang nila is ‘Kasi po trending e!’”
Alex also called attention to the need for greater sensitivity. “Ngayon sa digital world, sensitive na ang mga tao. Ayaw na natin yung bullying. Pero sa parteng ito sa kababaihan, hindi pa masyadong nabibigyan ng pansin,” she remarked, urging society to become more thoughtful and respectful in the conversations we have online.
