OPM singer-songwriter behind the hit songs ‘Pagsamo’ and ‘Take All The Love,’ Arthur Nery, has just released a new album titled ‘II: The Second.’ He is also set to have his concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on October 25, 2024 — this is his first solo concert at the Big Dome and his second concert overall.
A press conference was held on September 27 at Botejyu in Estancia, Ortigas, for his new album and concert. Arthur Nery described ‘II: The Second’ as very personal, emphasizing its profound importance to his life. His reflections reveal how these experiences have shaped both his music and the album’s creation.
“This album is very personal sa akin,” he shared. “Kasi ang daming nangyari. Nung 2020, my dad passed. Tapos nagka-COVID. Nag-lockdown. So ang daming nangyari. Yung mga songs ko… dumami siya nang dumami: yung sulat. Pero yung recording… availability-wise, nahirapan kami maghanap ng studios. And mga tao to work with. Kaya medyo na-delay siya nang kaunti. 5 years!” he added with a laugh.
The R&B sensation released his sophomore album on September 28, marking his first album in five years following the success of his 2019 debut, Letters Never Sent.
The new album includes tracks such as Na Naman, I Gotchu, Di Nakakasawa (feat. Kiyo), Lullaby (feat. Jolianne), Get Going (feat. Jon), O Ninanais, Nasa’king Damdamin, Segundo, Siguro, Foolish, and Paalam Lang Ang Palagi.

Following his sold-out concert at the New Frontier Theater in 2022, Nery’s upcoming concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on October 25 will feature fresh songs from his new album, along with special guests and performances.
Nery also expressed his excitement and anticipation for his upcoming concert. He emphasized the extensive preparation for his performance at a larger venue.
He said, “First time ko sa Araneta, and since first time siya, marami kaming, I think it’s [grander] than sa [New Frontier Theatre] concert namin last time. And mas pinaghandaan namin siya like months before the concert. A lot of guests, performances, and new songs.”
Nery also admitted that he feels pressure. He said, “…Regarding sa pressure. Yes po. Na-pi-pressure po ako. Hindi sa thought na kung mapupuno ko siya or hindi. Gusto ko lang talaga na mabigyan ng magandang performance yung mga pupunta.”

With an exciting solo concert planned, fans can look forward to experiencing live performances of songs from his new album. They are sure to enjoy a soulful blend of R&B, pop, and heartfelt lyrics that Arthur has become known for as he continues to carve out his own remarkable space in the music industry.
