Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo makes his debut in the country’s biggest historical action-drama series of 2024, Pulang Araw. He takes on the role of the ruthless Japanese soldier Col. Yuta Saitoh, starring alongside Alden Richards, Barbie Forteza, David Licauco, and Sanya Lopez.
During a press conference on August 6, Dennis Trillo shared his thoughts on taking on his first major villain role after more than two decades in showbiz: “Siguro sa lahat ng mga nagawa ko, ito siguro yung pinakatatatak sa lahat dahil ito yung pinaka-main villain talaga.

It can be recalled that Trillo’s first breakthrough performance was in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry ‘Aishite Imasu 1941: Mahal Kita,’ directed by Joel Lamangan in 2004, for which he bagged his very first acting award (Best Support Actor at the MMFF that year).
When asked about how different his role now is, he answered, “Malayong-malayo doon sa ‘Aishite Imasu’ e.
He also shared how difficult it is to practice and deliver lines in Japanese.
“Mahirap!

Given the challenges of his role and the sensitivity of his character in the midst of a sensitive topic that his bravely tackled by the Kapuso network on the Philippine television landscape, Dennis has his own share of learning.
