Wish 107.5’s tenth-anniversary celebration, “Wish Date: Obscure,” was a spectacular event that blended music, film, theater, and charity into a memorable experience for music aficionados and fans of all ages and walks of life.
Held on August 11 at Araneta Coliseum, the show featured captivating performances by top artists, including Stell Ajero of SB19, Gigi De Lana and the Gigi Vibes, NeoColours, and Silent Sanctuary. From the promising stable of KDR Music House, Esay, Hakki, and Letters from June showcased their own musical prowess.
The short film “Wish Date: Obscure” was a highlight of the event, interspersed with narration by Kuya Daniel Razon, who portrayed the silhouetted and seemingly mysterious Dr. Clark.
The relatable love story, which provided hope and kilig, starred Elijah Canlas, JC Alcantara, Karina Bautista, Bernadette Allyson, and Drexell Kern. It centered on Carlos (Elijah Canlas), a compassionate lawyer grappling with past trauma. His poignant love story with Bernadette (Karina Bautista) took center stage, with JC Alcantara’s character, Chris, as a loyal friend with strong values.
The live performances were met with thunderous applause from all sections of the venue, with most attendees beaming the flashlights of their cellphones during key numbers.
At the heart of “Wish Date: Obscure” was a profound message about love seen through the heart. The film explored the multifaceted nature of love—its silent expressions and complexities.
The characters emphasized the importance of expressing love verbally, while also contrasting how feelings can be communicated without words. Ultimately, what matters most is understanding what our hearts mean and how they feel.
Beyond the performances, the #Wish10thAnniversary event also highlighted the importance of community giving. A total of Php400,000 was donated to various charities:
Stell Ajero and Wish 107.5 contributed Php100,000 to Save the Children.
Silent Sanctuary and Wish 107.5 gave Php100,000 to Pangarap Foundation.
NeoColours and Wish 107.5 donated Php100,000 to Cribs Foundation.
Gigi De Lana and the Gigi Vibes, along with Wish 107.5, provided Php100,000 to the Cancer Treatment and Support Foundation.
