Allen Dizon, Iñigo Pascual, veteran actors headline Joel Lamangan’s new film ‘Fatherland’

Internatioanl singer-actor-songwriter Iñigo Pascual and internationally multi-awarded actor Allen Dizon top-bill the latest film to be directed by Joel Lamangan, who is currently popular for his portrayal as Roda in the hit Kapamilya primetime series ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.

When asked about the plot of the film during the story conference, Direk Joel Lamangan shared that ‘Fatherland,’ written by his long-time collaborator Roy Iglesias, centers around a young man, played by Iñigo, who embarks on a journey to find his father.

He also described the story as being about “a son searching for his father” who grew up in America with his mother. After his mother’s death, the young man returns to the Philippines to connect with his roots and meet his father.

As he searches for his father, he becomes more aware of his homeland’s current issues.

He also noted the film’s unique structure includes three distinct stories.

He said, “Ang structure ng movie may tatlong storya na nakapaloob, kaya napakarami nating artista. Sila ay mag-a-appear sa tatlong maliliit na istorya sa loob ng isang pelikula.”

In fact, the star-studded cast include Cherry Pie Picache, Mercedes Cabral, Ara Mina, Angel Aquino, Max Eigenman, Jeric Gonzales, Yasser Mata, Rico Barrera, Abed Green, Ara Davao, Bo Bautista, most of which were present during the event held in a hotel in Manila.

This multi-layered approach adds depth to the story and highlights the complexities of the human experience, which can be seen soon in cinemas as this production of BenTria Productions (of Engr. Benjamin Austria) and Heaven’s Best Entertainment (of Harlene Bautista) pursues.
