During the press conference on July 29 at Viva Cafe for the girls’ love film #UnangTikim, the two lead stars and their director Roman Perez, Jr. were present to answer questions from the attendees.
Robb Guinto shared how she’s feeling for her new project. She said, “Sobrang grateful kami, especially sa Viva. And medyo may pressure kasi ito yung first [Vivamax] na lalabas sa sinehan… I know na lahat kami, ginawa namin lahat dito. Binigay namin yung buong effort namin dito sa pelikulang ‘to.”
Angeli had the same excitement. She said, “Very exciting! Happy and excited na ako mapanood yung work ng lahat namin sa big screen. And of course, pressured dahil every scene, since it’s a big screen lahat ng acting mo, lahat ng words, and nuances makikita sa big screen. Kaya each and every scene that we had, [we] really gave it the best and I hope you’ll appreciate it.”
When asked how she feels that she is now the reigning Vivamax Queen, Angeli Khang, who is more recently seen in the Kapuso primetime series ‘Black Rider’ with Ruru Madrid, was humble in her answer.
“Until now, I still can believe that people see me a Vivamax Queen. And I never thought that I will get this part. And I’m very thankful that people saw my talent, how hard I strive for this. And each and every day I will always try to make everyone proud and do my best 110%.”
In the film, Yuna (Angeli Khang) and Becca (Robb Guinto) are madly in love with each other. They are each other’s first – first touch, first kiss, first sexual experience. It seems like nothing can break them apart, until Becca is forced to migrate to the U.S. to be with her family.
Between the two, Becca is the lipstick lesbian. She’s also an artist and an introvert. When she loves, she gives her all. Meanwhile, Yuna is bisexual. She looks innocent, but aggressive when it comes to lovemaking. She is generally supportive and caring to people she loves, but it turns out that she cannot stand long distance relationship.
Nicco (Matt Francisco), Yuna’s boss, likes her so much, and makes a way to get close to her while she is in a long distance relationship with Becca. He eventually wins her heart when the girlfriends mutually decide to break up.
Four years later, Yuna is now engaged to be married to Nicco. Becca, now a professional photographer in the U.S., returns to the Philippines to complete her dream photo exhibit. She has a new lover, Trisha (Christy Imperial). Destiny makes their paths cross again, and both realize that they are still in love with each other.
They say that first love never dies, but is it worth all the risk? Can Yuna turn her back on her stable and loving relationship with Nicco for a second chance with Becca?
