In a relationship, have you ever been played, or were you the one who did the playing? That was the lingering question during the media conference of the newest suspense-thriller movie “Playtime,” the latest collaboration between GMA Pictures and Viva Films, which opens in theaters nationwide on June 12.
The cast and director were all present during the event held at Fin and Claw, Quezon City. Sanya Lopez, Coleen Garcia, Faye Lorenzo, and Xian Lim were joined by their esteemed director Mark A. Reyes V, who is also behind the film’s story and original concept.
This is the first time the Kapuso First Lady of Primetime has worked with Xian Lim, unlike the other cast members, whom she already knows. Direk Mark was also her director in previous projects. She shared her first impression of Xian Lim, marking their initial collaboration.

Real-Life ‘Playtime’ Experiences
The cast was also asked if they have ever experienced ‘Playtime’ in real life.
If ako ba yung na-playtime, hindi ko alam. If sa duration ng relationship masasabi mo no matter how long kung playtime nga ba, I don’t think so. Parang maski sabihin natin weeks lang yan or years, you can never say it was playtime because if there was a reason kung bakit dumating yung taong yun sa buhay mo, mapamaganda o hindi, so there is a reason why that person played a role in your life.
Nakakatakot!”
Coleen Garcia: “Sa akin naman hindi. Kasi relationship person ako ever since. Ang goal ko talaga in life was to have a family, stable marriage, and everything.”

What is the film ‘Playtime’ all about?
“Playtime” revolves around three women from different worlds who find themselves in a dangerous situation involving a man they all mistakenly trust.
Allyson (Sanya Lopez): A vlogger-influencer who entertains a seemingly harmless fan but soon discovers how dangerous he actually is.
Roni (Coleen Garcia): A bride-to-be who seeks one last adventure before settling down and hooks up with a stranger in a bar.
Patricia (Faye Lorenzo): A woman trying to escape her abusive ex and naively trusts a stranger who rescues her from her boyfriend.
Three women. Three strangers of different personalities. Three lives intertwine as Allyson, Roni, and Patricia get entangled with the same man: Lucas (Xian Lim). Lucas wants to play, but his idea of games is far from what these women imagined.

Also part of the cast are Bruce Roeland, Haley Dizon, Kim Perez, Lienel Navidad, and Camille Patricia Guzman.
This film also serves as a homecoming for director Mark A. Reyes V, who began his career with Viva through anthologies and the hit ’90s youth-oriented series “T.G.I.S.,” which aired on GMA. Known for numerous TV projects such as the “Encantadia” franchise, “The Missing Husband,” and “Voltes V: Legacy,” Reyes has also directed films like “Moments of Love,” “Eternity,” “Till I Met You,” and “Voltes V: Legacy (The Cinematic Experience).”
Halika, laro tayo! (Come, let’s play!) Catch “Playtime” in cinemas nationwide beginning June 12.
