The newest band, Letters From June, is ready to take center stage as they formally join KDR Music House and launch their debut single, “Bituin“. The catchy tune of “Bituin” will be used as the theme song for the upcoming 13th edition of Wish Date, to be held in Araneta Coliseum on June 30.
During their contract signing on May 29 at the auditorium of La Verdad Christian College in Caloocan, Letters From June performed their song ‘Bituin’. The song delves into themes of love and longing. Initially written by Renzo as a personal ode, the band transformed the song into a compelling piece that reflects the emotional turmoil of unrequited love. With poignant lyrics questioning one’s worth in a relationship, “Bituin” captures the essence of heartfelt vulnerability in a powerful musical arrangement.

Letters From June comprises six talented members: Renzo on vocals and rhythm guitar, Michelle on keyboards and backup vocals, Arvy on electric guitar, Sean on electric guitar, Deign on bass guitar, and Ken on drums.
KDR Music House Operating Manager Arnold Sanchez expressed his excitement at welcoming Letters from June as a new member of their music family, praising their creativity and looking forward to their future performances and new songs.
“Kami [sa KDR Music House] ay very excited sa kanilang performances, sa kanilang mga mabubuong bagong kanta. Sana sa inyong suporta… sana i-welcome natin sila warmly, at suportahan natin sila sa kanilang mga upcoming song. Napakinggan namin ang mga song ng mga batang ito. Very creative.”
Moreover, he called for the support of fans and family to warmly welcome and support the group in their upcoming endeavors.
The band members’ journey began in a school theater group in November 2022, where their shared passion for performing arts brought them together. Since then, they have been creating music in a dorm room, drawing inspiration from their personal experiences.

The band members also shared insights into their origins and influences with TatakMNL.com during their media conference.
Renzo recounted, “We started [in] theater sa school. We were all bunch of students na malaki ang pagmamahal sa performing arts. I think that was a common ground para mabuo yung band.”
Despite their diverse personalities and musical tastes, the band members cherish each other’s contributions and the unique bond they’ve formed. Letters From June is known for crafting alternative, mellow, and cosmic sounds, influenced by artists like Ben&Ben, The 1975, I Belong to the Zoo, Lizzy McAlpine, Coldplay, The Juans, and Conan Gray. Their goal is to deliver a sound that resonates with their distinctive style.
Michelle elaborated on the band’s name, “Sean thought of it actually, the name. And we found meaning behind it… The format of our songs, written behind it, is the lyrics as if it’s written for someone or by someone. Especially with ‘Bituin,’ it is evident that it’s a love song but it’s also a bit heart-wrenching. “From June” because June is a month and a season of warmth, growth, and weddings.”
Renzo added, “And apparently, rainy season as well.”
Michelle continued, “With those things in mind, we really like the association June has with things that those, and we would like to incorporate that in our music and how we present ourselves.”
Sean shared the band’s musical influences, “When we started, isa sa mga naging main bonding namin is yung music, especially yung pag-enjoy namin ng music ni Lizzy McAlpine, and The 1975. Do’n nanggaling yung mga inspiration namin sa pagsusulat ng songs.”
Danielle highlighted her personal inspirations, “Ako, Ben&Ben, ’cause [ang] bassist nila [ay] girl din. And that’s just girl power. IV of Spades, and gusto ko rin yung style ni Zild. Ang cute lang nung mga bass line nila, so inspiration ko sila.”
As for Ken, he likes Cup of Joe and Coldplay.
Arvy concluded, “For me, it’s Over October. And The 1975, ’cause as someone who likes producing music, I think The 1975 songs are so beautifully produced. And [also] I Belong to the Zoo.”
As Letters From June releases their first single “Bituin,” they are excited to embark on this new chapter with KDR Music House, eager to share their unique sound and heartfelt music with the world.
With their hearts brimming with passion and their melodies ready to captivate audiences in the Philippines and in the whole world, Letters From June stands poised to showcase their talent with all the passion and talent it takes.
