‘AbeNida’: Katrina’s first acting award, Allen’s 13th int’l Best Actor win, Direk Louie’s hot take on bashers

After 21 years in showbiz, which was catapulted by her stint in the first season of GMA’s reality-based artista search StarStruck, Kapuso actress and ‘Black Rider’ star Katrina Halili has won her first-ever acting award. She recently received the Best Supporting Actress at the 10th Emirates Film Festival for playing the dual role in the psycho-thriller movie ‘AbeNida,’ directed by Louie Ignacio under BG Productions International.

It was also her first time to work with internationally acclaimed actor and ‘Abot na Kamay na Pangarap’ star Allen Dizon, who also bagged the Best Actor from the same award-giving body. This is his 13th international acting award. Prior to that, Dizon had already won yet another Best Actor trophy at the 2nd International Imago Film Festival di Civitella del Tronto in Teramo, Italy.

During a pocket press conference held on March 21, Halili said she didn’t expect to win an award.

Also present at the press conference were Baby F. Go, and her daughter, Jean Go, from BG Films. Line producer Dennis Evangelista moderated the event.

Direk Louie on bashing

Meanwhile, award-winning filmmaker Louie Ignacio, who has long proven his merits in the field and television and film direction and production, has something striking to say about bashers.

Feisty but full of honesty during the event, he called out his bashers.

Allen Dizon on criticism

In-demand actor Allen Dizon was also asked about being criticized for his works, having won dozen of awards and worked for a wide array of projects both on the small screen and on the silver screen.

‘AbeNida’ is expected to be released in local theaters this year. Stay tune for updates. Check out these snaps from the intimate press conference here:
