The Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival is set to open its doors on March 15 at the Gateway Cinemas.
As stated by Ivy Hayagan-Pieded, Puregold’s senior marketing manager and Puregold CinePanalo Festival Chair, “Puregold has always believed in championing ‘mga kwentong panalo ng buhay.’ That’s why we wanted to offer our local filmmakers, especially the young ones, the chance to share their inspiring stories at the Puregold CinePanalo.”

The festival is a testament to Puregold’s commitment to supporting local talent. Six professional directors received grants of P2.5 million each, while 25 student directors were granted P100,000 each. Ivy Hayagan-Pieded emphasizes Puregold’s dedication to nurturing talent, stating, “We champion ‘mga kwentong panalo ng buhay,’ providing a stage for local filmmakers, especially the youth.”
The lineup includes six feature films, with directors such as Sigrid Bernardo, Raynier Brizuela, Joel Ferrer, Carlo Obispo, Kurt Soberano, and Eugene Torres. In Ivy Hayagan-Pieded’s words, “Puregold has always believed in championing ‘mga kwentong panalo ng buhay.'”
Short films from various universities, including the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, UP Diliman, UP Visayas, Bicol University, Ateneo de Davao University, Mapua University, De La Salle University, University of Santo Tomas, and more, will also be featured.
All projects have completed post-production, ensuring high-quality viewing. The festival is supported by esteemed partners, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) and the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation (Mowelfund).
The screenings will take place at the Gateway Cineplex 18 from March 15 to 17. Tickets for individual films are priced at P300, with discounted rates of P240 for PWDs, senior citizens, and students. Festival passes covering all films can be purchased for P2,000.
