‘Anyone But You’: A rom-com delight with surprising chemistry

Here are our thoughts after attending the private screening of new romantic comedy film ANYONE BUT YOU at the office of Columbia Pictures.

“Anyone But You” is a delightful rom-com film that introduces a refreshing chemistry between Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell, suggesting a promising pairing for future love stories.

Despite a somewhat predictable storyline, the movie maintains an entertaining vibe throughout, with particularly charming moments towards the end (don’t miss those cute ending credit sequences). Boasting fun, laugh-out-loud moments, and captivating picturesque locations, this film guarantees to keep everyone amused and filled with kilig.

Directed by Will Gluck and co-written by Gluck and Ilana Wolpert, “Anyone But You” draws inspiration from William Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing.” The film narrates the story of Bea (Sydney Sweeney) and Ben (Glen Powell), who appear to be the perfect couple.

However, after an amazing first date, an unexpected turn cools their fiery attraction until they find themselves forced together at a destination wedding in Australia. What follows is a mature yet amusing decision: they pretend to be a couple.
