Marissa Sanchez stages what might be her retirement concert

It’s a night to remember as performer-actress-singer-comedian Marissa Sanchez headlines her birthday concert dubbed as “My Valentines in December,” which will feature six ‘hunks’ and a special guest. This special event is set on December 8, starting at 8 p.m. at Samsung Hall, SM Aura in Taguig City.

Marissa explained the concept of her concert’s title relating it to her guests.

“Kaya Valentines kasi ang guests ko, mga hunks. Ang gugwapo ng mga guests ko! [Sina] Ronnie Liang, yung nagpauso ng ngiti. Yung sikat na sikat sa Linlang, si JM De Guzman. …Jeffrey Hidalgo ng Smokey Mountain. Wilbert Ross, the fast-rising matinee [idol na] Vivamax King! And the original Prince of Pinoy Pop, Dingdong Avanzado. Syempre ang pinaka-hunk sa kanilang lahat, Ogie Diaz.”

She also shared her vision as she has always wanted to be hands on in this project which she believes to be her last performance on stage.

“Gusto ko ‘tong show na ito [na] maging relaxing. And it might be my retirement concert. Kasi pagod na ako at tsaka gusto ko nang mag-concentrate [on] being an actor. Masaya naman ako kasi di ako nawawalan ng trabaho dahil lagi akong kinuhuha ng Vivamax.”

Marissa’s book, My Farewell Slam Book, which was initially published last September attracted a lot of attention for its unique and brave approach to life and death, hence the relaunch during the concert. Her book can also be purchased at the concert venue for P850.

Marissa was also part of several movie projects this year, including Baby Boy, Baby Girl (2023), The Ship Show (2023), Wild Flowers (2023), and Sa Muli (2023). She is also a part of the second season of The University Series, Safe Skies, Archer, which is now streaming on Viva One, the upcoming MMFF movie, Penduko, and upcoming movie with Jasmine Curtis, A Glimpse of Forever.

Under the musical direction of Maestro Elmer Brillantes Blancaflor and Ms. Vivian Poblete-Blancaflor as the concert director, My Valentines in December promises to be a night of music, love, and laughter at the Samsung Hall, SM Aura. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets range from P1,000; P2,000; and P2,500.
