Since it began playing in more than 100 theaters nationwide on August 30, NET25’s maiden full-length feature film offering through its film production arm, NET25 Films, ‘Monday First Screening’ has been receiving much-deserved love from its audiences.
This is what NET25 and NET25 Films President Caesar R. Vallejos is proud of when asked during an interview at the cinema lobby of SM North EDSA The Block where moviegoers flocked for a regular screening on Benedict Mique’s newest directorial stint. “I think the formula there is that it has to touch the FIlipino family; it has to relate to the Filipino family. Kapag napanood mo, isa ka doon sa mga character,” Vallejos said.

“This is the first senior rom-com, kini-claim na namin yon. May mga fans na nga yung iba. May mga nagha-hashtag na ng #GinRi, kasi nga Gina-Ricky. Sila mismo, very grateful din kasi nga si Ms. Gina Alajar and Direk Ricky Davao for the opportunity. They never realized that they will be lead stars of a film like this. “
When asked what’s next for NET25 Films after the success of ‘Monday First Screening,’ Vallejos mentioned that they are open to working with any filmmakers or stockholders as long as the project will be family-centric and wholesome.
“There are also film producers who are also approaching us. We cannot name them yet. But, yes, there are several institutions, some freelance directors… We are open to a lot of projects… as long as the content would be related to family values,” he emphasized. “It is the vision of NET25 and NET25 Films to be a family-friendly and genuinely wholesome general entertainment channel.”

In terms of being a game-changer in the industry, NET25 Films is more than “game” for it. Not to mention, they exist to be a tool in bring back the Filipino moviegoing public to the cinemas.
“Sa amin, doon makikita ang kakaiba… There’s a lot of films to choose from. As a matter of fact, mas ito rin yung adbokasiya ng NET25. Bakit? Di ba, no’ng panahon ng pandemya, nasaan ba ang industriya ng pelikula. Maraming nawalan ng trabaho, nahinto pati malls. All the malls were closed. This is our advocacy to really promote Filipino films and also it is our way to create jobs and encourage them to go back to cinemas. It’s an approach that [also gives help] to film producers, to screenwriters, and even the malls. This is our way to go back to our normal lives.”
‘Monday First Screening’ is still showing in theaters nationwide. Watch out for more exciting projects from NET25 and NET25 in the coming months as they announce upcoming titles soon.
