The controversial R-18-rated sexy romantic drama film ‘My Father, Myself’ held its grand press conference on November 24 at Novotel in Araneta, Quezon City. Directed by the award-winning director Joel Lamangan, it is one of the eight official entries to the Metro Manila Film Festival 2022.

This follows a complicated love story starring Jake Cuenca, Dimple Romana, Sean De Guzman, Tiffany Grey. Its screenplay was written by Quinn Carillo based on a true-to-life story by Lamangan himself. It is produced by Mr. John Bryan Diamante of Mentorque Productions and Nay Len Carillo of 3:16 Media Network.

After the recent release of its trailer, “My Father, Myself” became a hot topic on social media due to some of its provocative theme and sexual scenes. As netizens talked about it, opinions became more and more divisive.
According to its writer Quinn, “This is not fiction. There was a basis where the germ of the story came from. Some may find some kind of a shock value. It’s up to the viewing public as to how they will interpret it when they see it.”

“See the movie first, before you judge it. There was no intention to offend anyone in any way. We just wanted to tell a story. A different kind of love. A colorful life of a family,” shared Direk Joel.
